Equalities, Human Rights and Civil Justice Committee

1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take items 3, 4 and 5 in private. 2. International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR): The Committee will take evidence from— Kaukab Stewart, Minister for Equalities, Ian Davidson, Deputy Director for Social Security Policy, Alexandra Devoy, Human Rights Policy Lead (Treaties and International), Andrew Fraser, Child Poverty Briefing and Strategy Team Leader, and Cat McMeeken, Deputy Director, Equality, Scottish Government. 3. International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR): The Committee will consider the evidence it heard under agenda item 2. 4. Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill (UK Parliament legislation): The Committee will consider its approach to the legislative consent memorandum lodged by Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, (LCM-S6-54). 5. Scottish Human Rights Commission: The Committee will consider its approach to the Commission's report on progress in moving people from institutions to independent living following its evidence session on 1 April 2025.
